Visit of an Official Academic Delegation from UNITEN University, Malaysia
In continuation of the embassy’s diligent efforts to strengthen cooperation with various academic institutions and research centers in Malaysia, and in intense coordination with the Cultural Attaché in Malaysia,
Counselor Ahmed Ghanem Abdul Jabbar met with a high-level academic delegation from UNITEN University, Malaysia, which specializes in energy studies. The delegation was led by Dr. Khairul Salleh Bin Mohamed Sahari, Vice President of the University, accompanied by Dr. Izham Bin Zainal-Abidin, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs; Dr. Hidayah Sulaiman, Director of the International Office; and Dr. Firas Al-Nuaaimy. The meeting took place at the main building of the embassy on 2nd December 2024, in the presence of Dr. Abduljalil Mohamed, the Cultural Attaché; Second Secretary Fadi Falah Ahmed, Head of the Embassy’s Cultural Department; and Ms. Shelan Nuri from the Cultural Attaché’s office.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Khairallah Saleh Mohammed Sahari, Vice President of the University, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the embassy for facilitating this visit aimed at exploring prospects for future collaboration and establishing strategic partnerships that contribute to the development of scientific and academic relations between Iraq and Malaysia.
In turn, Counselor Ahmed Ghanem Abdul Jabbar welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing the embassy’s and Cultural Attaché’s commitment to strengthening ties with Malaysian academic and scientific institutions. He reiterated the readiness to provide support and assistance to UNITEN University and other Malaysian universities seeking to collaborate and work jointly with their Iraqi counterparts, aiming to enhance scientific and academic development in both countries. This, he noted, would undoubtedly bolster bilateral relations between Iraq and Malaysia, in collaboration with the Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur within the available capacities of both sides.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Khairallah Saleh Mohammed Sahari commended the advanced academic performance of Iraqi students, proposing an official invitation to both the embassy and the Cultural Attaché to visit the university and meet with Iraqi students studying there. Counselor Ahmed Ghanem Abdul Jabbar expressed his gratitude to the President and members of the UNITEN University delegation for their visit, affirming the importance of enhancing academic support for Iraqi students and calling for continued communication to achieve further collaboration in academic fields.
