Meeting with the Malaysian Parliament Speaker

   On 25th March 2024 the Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Mohammed Falih Hammood met H.E. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Johari bin Abdul the Speaker for the Malaysian House of Representatives at the Malaysian Parliament House.

   At the beginning of the meeting, the Chargé d’Affaires provided a brief explanation of the development of bilateral relations between Iraq and Malaysia, culminating recently in the reopening of the Malaysian embassy in Baghdad last year, and what the current year will witness in terms of exchange visits and high-level bilateral meetings, as well as the convening of the Joint Committee meeting in Baghdad.

   His Excellency Dr. Abdul welcomed this meeting and expressed his readiness and support for all forms of cooperation with Iraq, including parliamentary cooperation through the exchange of visits or bilateral meetings in international forums to unify common positions.

   At the end of the meeting, commemorative gifts were exchanged between the two sides.
