The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad receives the Assistant Prime Minister for Press and Media Affairs.




     H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, on Friday 7/5/2021, has received Assistant Prime Minister for Press and Media Affairs and Former Minister of Information, Dr. Firdaus Ashiq, at the embassy’s headquarters.
 
     A number of issues related to freedom of the press, the media and freedom of expression have been discussed considering that to be the cornerstone of a democratic society.
 
     Mrs. Firdaus praised the size of the fraternal relationship between the two friendly countries, noting that there are great opportunities in Pakistan and Iraq that can be invested in all fields, the most important of which is related to the oil and energy sector and the exchange of experiences.
 
     The Ambassador expressed his country’s support for all opportunities that would achieve the interests of the two friendly Peoples, indicating that Iraq is a fertile ground for attracting investment companies to work in Iraq.
 
     The two sides agreed to maintain communication to achieve the results of this meeting, in coordination with the Iraqi and Pakistani sides, in a way that achieves the mutual benefit of the two countries.
