The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan receives Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, on the occasion of his accreditation as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Islamabad.




H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan received, on 29/9/2020, H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, on the occasion of his accreditation as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Ambassador expressed his honor for availing the opportunity to represent his country in Pakistan, assuring his endeavor to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and to open horizons for joint cooperation to achieve common interests in various fields.
During his meeting with Dr. Arif Alvi, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of Honorable President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Barham Salih, the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa al-Kadhimi, and the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Fuad Hussein, and their emphasis on the importance of relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Pakistani President praised the level of the relations developed between the two friendly countries, and the ways to further enhance them, affirming that his country stood with the Iraqi government in its war against terrorism and extremism and its endeavors to fight corruption and build a strong state, praising the courage and bravery of the Iraqi military establishment for its response to the terrorist organization “ISIS”. This indicates that Iraq is truly defending itself and on behalf of the world.
