The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad receives the Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.



H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad has received Dr. Noor-Ul-Haq Qadri, Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on 17/09/2020, at the embassy headquarters.
       The Ambassador welcomed the guest and both sides exchanged the words of welcome and acquaintance.
The two sides discussed the issue of the religious visit to Iraq this year, due to its great importance for Muslims in the world.
The Ambassador confirmed that the Iraqi government is studying the issue of the Arbaeeniya visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the existed possibilities in this regard, expressing the readiness of the Mission for the success of this visit if instructions are issued regarding it.
       On his part, Mr. Noor Ul Haq confirmed that the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and the Pakistani Ministry of Health are working in coordination with the Pakistani Crisis Cell to prepare a special work plan for organizing the religious visit, and sending a medical team from the Pakistani Ministry of Health to Iraq to follow up on the affairs of their visitors, and requested to transfer of the idea of ​​reducing the number of Pakistani visitors for this year, taking into account the health conditions, and for the success of the visit this season.
The Ambassador expressed his full support for these measures, in compliance with the decisions issued regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, and in order to preserve the safety of everyone.
