The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad meets the Foreign Secretary of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.


H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta paid a courtesy call upon Mr. Sohail Mahmood, Foreign Secretary of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 05/09/2020.
       The two sides exchanged welcome expressions, starting to talk about bilateral relations between the two countries, mutual relations and ways to enhance them in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly Peoples.
Both sides also discussed the issue of Turkish interference in Iraq and its violation of national sovereignty, which threatens to ignite more conflicts in the region, hoping that this will be implicitly indicated in the speech of the official spokesman for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
They also discussed some files related to the mission’s work, coordination and cooperation in various fields, including the issue of the religious visit, as it is sacred to the People and the Pakistani government.
On the other side, the two sides stressed upon the need to activate the Iraqi-Pakistani Joint Commission and the Political Dialogue Committee between the two foreign ministries, and to determine the date for its meeting.
