Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad meets the Ambassador of the Holy See.



H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, on 25/8/2020, met with the Ambassador of the Holy See in Islamabad, Mr. Christophe EL Kassis, at the Embassy of the Vatican Mission.
 
The two sides exchanged expressions of welcome and acquaintance, beginning with the talks about the importance of interfaith dialogue and world peace.
 
Ambassador Hamid Abbas affirmed that Islam and Christianity call for tolerance and peace, and this must be highlighted in various international forums.
 
For his part, Ambassador Christophe emphasized that the teachings of the Christian religion are not different from the teachings of the Islamic religion, and both of them worship Allah Almighty and believe in what Allah has revealed to them.
 
Mr. Christophe noted that Iraq is a great country with an ancient civilization, and very important to the Holy See.
 
In conclusion, Ambassador Hamed thanked his counterpart for the hospitality and reception, wishing him success in his work. On his part, Ambassador Christof expressed his gratitude for this visit, wishing the ambassador success and achievement in his duties.
