The Acting Chargé d’ Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad meets the Pakistani Foreign Minister.



The Acting Chargé d’ Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad Counselor Mr. Abdul Salam Saddam met, on 9/11/2019, with the Pakistani Foreign Minister Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
This meeting came on the occasion of attending the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor for the Sikh community.
On his part, Mr. Abdul Salam utilized this meeting to talk with Mr. Qureshi about the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing and strengthening them in a way that achieves common interests.
In addition to achieving official visits between the two countries and increasing coordination between them in international issues of common interest, especially those related to security and economy,
The two sides agreed to meet separately to talk about all the plans between the two countries and ways to achieve them.
On this occasion, the Pakistani Foreign Minister conveyed his greetings to the Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Al-Hakeem.
It is worth-mentioning that Pakistan and India have signed an agreement to activate the Kartarpur Corridor which is most sacred place for about 30 million Sikh community in the world, 5 million of whom live in India and nearly 20,000 in Pakistan.
