Ancient Mesopotamian city of Babylon added to UNESCO World Heritage list

UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee voted on Friday to list the sprawling Mesopotamian Metropolis of Babylon as World Heritage Site after three decades of lobbying efforts by Iraq.
