Strengthening Iraqi-Romanian Relations: The Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation Visits the Romanian Senate to Discuss Ways of Cooperation and Enhancing Bilateral Relations.
In response to the invitation from Senator Titus Corlățean, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Romanian Senate, Dr. Dylan Ghafoor Saleh, Chairwoman of the Foreign Relations Committee, along with MPs Dr. Haider Al-Sulami, Dr. Mohammed Sadiq Mohammed, and Dr. Aryan Aziz, and the Acting Chargé d’Affaires Dr. Alaa Al-Saadi visited the headquarters of the Romanian Senate on Monday, March 18, 2024. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of enhancing bilateral relations and continuing the exchange program between Iraq and Romania. The historical and diplomatic relations between the two countries were praised during the meeting, highlighting the significance of developing relations in politics, economics, education, and culture. The Iraqi side raised several points, including the completion of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, encouraging Romanian companies to invest in Iraq, recognizing Iraqi government schools, addressing the issue of forced deportation of migrants, and exploring the possibility of opening direct air routes between the two countries.
