Foreign Minister Meets His Turkish Counterpart in Baghdad on the Sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Hakan Fidan, on Saturday, 17 October 2026, on the sidelines of the 52nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Baghdad.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen joint cooperation, as well as key regional issues and developments.

Mr. Hussein expressed his gratitude to Türkiye for its previous presidency of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, while Mr. Fidan expressed his confidence in Iraq’s ability to lead the current session and achieve its objectives.
