FM Receives Copy of Credentials of New Czech Ambassador to Iraq
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fuad Hussein, received on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, a copy of the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Iraq, Mr Petr Kaván.
The Minister welcomed the Czech Ambassador, wishing him success in carrying out his diplomatic duties, and affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities to ensure the success of his mission, in a manner that contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the Czech Republic and ways to develop them and broaden prospects for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
For his part, Ambassador Petr Kaván expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister, affirming his country’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Iraq and continue bilateral cooperation and coordination during the coming period.
