FM Chairs Second Meeting of Committee Formed Pursuant to Diwani Order No. (260671)

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fuad Hussein, chaired the second meeting of the committee formed pursuant to Diwani Order No. (260671) on Monday, 5 October 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad. The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice, Mr Khalid Shwani; Deputy Minister of Planning, Mr Maher Johan; Adviser to the Prime Minister for Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr Ali Fawzi Al-Mousawi; Deputy Head of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, Mr Waqas Mohammed Hussein Al-Hadithi; and the Head of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Transport, with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington participating via videoconference.

The meeting followed up on the work completed since the previous meeting and reviewed the latest developments and legal and administrative procedures related to the files before the committee, in addition to following up on the implementation of previous recommendations and decisions.

The Minister stressed the importance of continued coordination among the relevant authorities and completing the necessary procedures and requirements in accordance with the applicable legal and official frameworks. The committee agreed to continue follow-up and coordination during the coming period, in a manner that contributes to completing the files before it.
