FM Meets German Deputy FM in Berlin

Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, met, on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, with German Deputy Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Gisa Andreas von Geyr, in the German capital, Berlin.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Federal Republic of Germany, and ways to develop and advance them in various fields, in addition to discussing developments in the region and ways to reach solutions that would help contain crises and avoid the repercussions of their continuation.

The two sides also discussed the status of German forces operating in Iraq, in light of the conclusion of the presence of the International Coalition forces at the end of this month, and explored prospects for cooperation and coordination between the two countries during the next phase.

The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining continued communication and joint coordination in a manner that contributes to strengthening Iraqi-German relations and supports the mutual interests of the two countries.
