Press Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the welcome of the Republic of Iraq for the positive outcomes of the talks between the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Government, which also resulted in the unification of the armed forces through the decision to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the institutions of the Syrian state.

The Ministry considers this step, along with other measures taken in this regard, an important development in the process of strengthening Syria’s stability and sovereignty, contributing to broader participation in governance and helping to fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, peace, and stability.

The Ministry reaffirms the Republic of Iraq’s support for all efforts aimed at strengthening Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, ensuring that the institutions of the Syrian state serve as the unifying framework for all components of the Syrian people.
