FM Discusses Joint Work and Challenges Facing MOFA with the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee at the Ministry’s headquarters on Monday, 10 August 2026, for the second time, to discuss a number of issues and matters of mutual interest.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments at the regional and international levels and the challenges facing the region, in addition to discussing the financial situation and the challenges facing the work of the MOFA and ways to address them.

The meeting also addressed the important role played by MOFA in representing the Republic of Iraq, defending its interests, and strengthening its presence on the international stage, as well as its continued efforts to address files and issues of an international nature, particularly those affecting the vital interests of the Iraqi state.

The meeting underscored the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, in a manner that supports Iraqi diplomatic efforts and enhances Iraq’s ability to respond to regional and international developments and challenges.
