Fuad Hussein and Badr Abdelatty Discuss Bilateral Relations and Trilateral Cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, held on Saturday, 8 August 2026, a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty.

The call discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and expand prospects for cooperation across various fields, as well as continuing coordination and consultations on regional issues of mutual interest.

The call addressed the latest developments in the region. The two ministers emphasized the importance of de-escalation and supporting efforts aimed at achieving calm, in a manner that contributes to enhancing regional security and stability.

The two sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing to support the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism between Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan and building on the progress achieved within its framework, in a manner that enhances opportunities for integration, development, and shared prosperity among the three countries.
