The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq expresses its deep concern regarding reports circulating about facilities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia having been targeted by three drones. In this context, the Ministry reaffirms the depth of the fraternal and historic relations binding the two brotherly countries, Iraq’s constant commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields, and its firm and consistent position rejecting any targeting of sisterly states.

The Ministry further states that it has received preliminary information concerning the alleged targeting of the Kingdom by three drones. While closely following these reports, it confirms that the competent authorities immediately initiated the necessary verification and investigation procedures to determine the circumstances and details surrounding the incident. The Ministry also noted that no information related to the incident had been detected through Iraqi air defense systems or optical surveillance equipment. In this regard, the Ministry calls upon the relevant authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to cooperate and exchange relevant information in a manner that contributes to reaching accurate conclusions and enhances security and stability for both brotherly countries.

The Ministry stresses the firm position of the Republic of Iraq in respecting the security, safety, and sovereignty of sisterly states, and its rejection of any acts that may undermine their stability, threaten their national security, or harm the fraternal relations with sisterly countries.

The Ministry further affirms its commitment to continuing coordination and consultation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a manner that strengthens security and stability in the region and serves the shared interests of the two brotherly countries.
