The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq expresses its strong condemnation of the announcement by the Israeli entity regarding the appointment of a diplomatic representative to the so-called “Somaliland.”

The Ministry considers this step to reveal intentions aimed at encouraging conflicts and disputes within states, and views it as an unacceptable precedent that undermines the foundations of international law and the principles of respect for the sovereignty and unity of states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the firm position of the Republic of Iraq in support of the unity and sovereignty of Somalia, and its rejection of any unilateral measures that may compromise them.
