Press Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq expresses its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the sisterly State of Qatar and the friendly Republic of Türkiye following the crash of a helicopter in Qatari territorial waters, as a result of a technical malfunction during the performance of a routine mission. The incident resulted in a number of casualties among members of the joint Qatari–Turkish forces.

MOFA affirms the full solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with the governments and peoples of both brotherly countries in this painful incident. It extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured and safety to all those engaged in similar missions.
