The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq affirms that the targeting incidents witnessed in energy facilities in a number of countries neighboring the Republic of Iraq, as well as in sister countries in the region during the recent period, constitute a concerning escalation that would undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions and weaken the prospects for stability.

MOFA stresses the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at containing the escalation and enhancing stability in the region, as well as ensuring the smooth flow of energy supplies to global markets, in a manner that serves the interests of states and peoples.

MOFA also affirms that the continuation of escalation will not serve the interests of any party; rather, it would deepen crises and widen the scope of tensions, which necessitates prioritizing the language of dialogue and diplomatic solutions. In this context, it notes that peaceful solutions remain the optimal option for addressing disputes in a way that achieves security and stability for all.

MOFA calls for the need to activate international and regional mechanisms to address these shared challenges, while emphasizing the importance of adopting dialogue and de-escalation as a means to resolve crises, thereby contributing to the consolidation of security and stability and the safeguarding of shared interests.
