The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its firm rejection of any attack targeting diplomatic and consular missions operating within the territory of the Republic of Iraq.

The Ministry affirms the commitment of the Government of Iraq to ensuring the security and safety of all diplomatic and consular missions and their personnel, in accordance with the provisions of international law and the relevant agreements.

In this context, and under the direction of the Prime Minister, the competent authorities have launched investigations into several attacks that targeted diplomatic and consular missions. The results of these investigations will be submitted to the higher authorities in order to take the necessary legal actions.

The Ministry further affirms that the Government and the security agencies will not tolerate any acts of violence or attacks against diplomatic missions and will continue to take all necessary measures to maintain security and stability.
