Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments with his Saudi Counterpart

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, held a phone call on Saturday, 17 January 2026, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the call, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and avenues to enhance them in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two brotherly countries.

The conversation also addressed overall regional developments, particularly the ongoing tensions between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein also briefed his Saudi counterpart on his upcoming visit to Tehran.
