Press Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the gratitude of the Republic of Iraq to the Italian Republic for the congratulatory message it conveyed to the Government of Iraq on the occasion of the success of the electoral process, and for the commendation it included regarding the conduct of the elections and their adherence to constitutional procedures and the democratic path in the country.

The Ministry values the supportive positions affirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic in its statement issued in Rome, which emphasized the continued strengthening and development of bilateral cooperation. The Ministry also expresses Iraq’s appreciation for Italy’s readiness to advance economic cooperation and bolster partnerships between the institutions of both countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq reiterates its confidence in the close relations that unite the two friendly countries and expresses its aspiration to continue joint work with the Government of Italy to enhance the partnership, support development pathways, and consolidate security and stability in the region.
