Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Receives Armenian Ambassador to Iraq

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, Foreign Ministy Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq Mr. Ruben Sogoyan at the Ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, Undersecretary Saeed welcomed the Armenian Ambassador, emphasizing the strong ties between Iraq and Armenia and their shared desire to enhance and develop these relations in ways that serve the interests of both countries. He also highlighted Iraq’s openness to its regional and international environment and its efforts to utilize this openness to consolidate the foundations of security and peace through adopting dialogue and political and diplomatic means to resolve crises.

On his part, Ambassador Sogoyan expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s balanced stances, affirming the importance of relying on political and diplomatic solutions to address regional tensions and ensure the consolidation of security and stability in the region. He also conveyed his country’s aspiration to strengthen its relations with Iraq across various fields.

The meeting included discussions and an exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual concern.
