Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Expresses Iraq’s Appreciation to Countries and International Organizations for their Condolences Following the Tragic Incident in Al Kut, Wasit Province

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, extends his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all brotherly and friendly countries, their Excellencies the Foreign Ministers, as well as international and regional organizations and humanitarian agencies that expressed their solidarity and extended condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Iraq following the tragic fire that broke out in a shopping mall in the city of Kut, Wasit Province—an incident that, regrettably, claimed the lives of several innocent civilians and left others injured.

The Foreign Ministry affirms that these expressions of solidarity reflect the depth of human, fraternal, and diplomatic ties that bind Iraq to its Arab and international partners. The Ministry commends the sense of responsibility shown by these entities during such a difficult time.

The Ministry reiterates its condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured, as well as it  reaffirms the commitment of the Iraqi Government to take all necessary measures to address the consequences of this tragedy and to prevent such incidents in the future.
