Joint Statement

The Foreign Ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Lebanese Republic, and the Arab Republic of Egypt held extensive talks over the past two days on the developments in Syria. These talks were held within the context of a unified stance and joint efforts to support the Syrian government in rebuilding the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic on foundations that ensure its security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and the rights of all its citizens.

In their joint statement, the Ministers affirmed the following:

– Support for Syria’s security, unity, stability, and sovereignty, and rejection of all foreign interference in its affairs.

– Welcoming the agreement reached to resolve the crisis in Al Suwayda Governorate, and emphasizing the importance of its implementation to safeguard Syria’s unity and its citizens, to prevent bloodshed, ensure the protection of civilians, and uphold the sovereignty of the state and the rule of law.

– Welcoming the commitment of His Excellency Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa to hold all those responsible for violations against Syrian citizens in Al Suwayda accountable, and supporting all efforts aimed at restoring security, the sovereignty of the state, and the rule of law in Al-Suwayda and throughout Syrian territory, while rejecting violence, sectarianism, incitement, and hatred.

– Condemning the repeated Israeli attacks on the Syrian Arab Republic and rejecting them as flagrant violations of international law and blatant aggression against Syria’s sovereignty, which undermine its security, stability, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people, and obstruct the Syrian government’s efforts to build a new Syria that meets the aspirations and choices of its brotherly people.

– Stressing that Syria’s security and stability are fundamental to regional security and stability and is a shared priority.

– Calling on the international community to support the Syrian government in the reconstruction process, and urging the UN Security Council to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by ensuring Israel’s full withdrawal from the occupied Syrian territories, halting all Israeli hostilities against Syria and interference in its internal affairs, and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement.
