Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Meets Australian Ambassador to Baghdad

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received the Ambassador of Australia to Baghdad, Mr. Glenn Miles, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and Australia across various fields. Ambassador Bahr Aluoom emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in light of the security and political stability Iraq is currently experiencing.

The discussions also covered the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the current military escalation, which poses a serious threat to regional peace and security.

Undersecretary, Bahr Aluloom reaffirmed Iraq’s unwavering position on the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective means to prevent the region from sliding into a dangerous conflict that would affect all parties.
