Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from French Counterpart to Discuss Regional Developments and Bilateral Relations


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot, on 25 June 2025. 

The two ministers discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with a particular focus on recent developments following the end of conflict and the beginning of the ceasefire phase, in addition to the broader situation in the Middle East.

Additionally, they exchanged views on the NATO Summit meetings, and their implications for regional security and stability.

The conversation further touched on ways to enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and France across various sectors.

In addition, both sides discussed the possibility of convening the fourth edition of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, highlighting France’s role in supporting this important regional process.
