Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry Receives Armenian Ambassador

The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq Mr. Ruben Soghoyan, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Armenia and prospects for developing them to serve the common interests of the two countries. As well they highlighted the need to hold the next round of political consultations in Baghdad, and preparing for the meetings of the Iraqi-Armenian Joint Committee scheduled to be held in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
Regarding the regional situation, Undersecretary Bahr Aluloom affirmed Iraq’s unswerving position in condemning the aggression launched by the Israeli entity against the Islamic Republic of Iran, while welcoming the ceasefire agreement reached between the conflicting parties.
On his part, Ambassador Soghoyan expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen its relations with Iraq, emphasizing the importance of adopting diplomatic means and political solutions to address regional tensions, ensuring security and stability in the region.
