Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives Swiss Ambassador and Dutch Chargé d’Affaires to Iraq

Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received on Monday, June 23, 2025, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Daniel Hunn, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq, Mr. Jacob Wiersma.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Undersecretary expressed Iraq’s strong condemnation of the aggression of the Israeli entity against the Islamic Republic of Iran, affirming its categorical rejection of the use of Iraqi airspace for any military operations against neighboring countries.
Additionally, Undersecretary Bahr Aluloom underlined Iraq’s support for regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and enhancing security and stability in the region.
On their part, Mr. Wiersma and Ambassador Hunn highlighted that a diplomatic solution remains the viable option to end tensions, expressing their countries’ support for the Iraqi government’s efforts to de-escalate tensions and enhance opportunities for regional peace and stability.
