Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Arrives in Istanbul to Attend OIC and Emergency Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meetings at Iraq’s Invitation

On Friday, June 20, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, arrived in Istanbul Turkey, to participate in the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which was called for by the Minister.
Minister Hussein was received upon his arrival by a number of Turkish officials and representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The emergency Arab foreign ministers meeting is being held in light of a serious escalation in the region. In addition during both meetings Minister Hussein is scheduled to discuss with several of his counterparts from participating countries on the recent attacks carried out by the Israeli entity on the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its regional and international repercussions amid growing concerns over the potential expansion of the conflict and its impact on the security and stability of the Middle East.
Minister Hussein will reaffirm Iraq’s consistent position during these meetings, calling for de-escalation, respect for the sovereignty of states, and the pursuit of diplomatic solutions over violence and confrontation, in order to safeguard regional and international peace and security.
