Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Receives Phone Call from Jordanian Counterpart to Discuss Regional Escalation and Preparations for OIC Meeting

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, received a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr. Ayman Safadi, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
The call dealt with the recent developments in the region amid continued escalation, particularly in the aftermath of the Israeli aggression on the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the serious threats it poses to the security and stability of the Middle East. Both ministers reaffirmed their rejection of any further escalation and emphasized the need for joint efforts to contain the crisis and prevent its expansion.
The two ministers also discussed ongoing preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to be held in Istanbul early next week, in addition they stressed the importance of coordinating positions among member states to adopt a unified Islamic stance in response to the dangerous escalation.
In this context, the ministers discussed the proposal of convening an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers on the sidelines of the OIC conference, to explore collective Arab action aimed at de-escalation and preserving the security of the region and the interests of its peoples.
