Iraq’s Embassy in Manama Facilitates Departure of Stranded Pilgrims and Secures their Transportation to Kuwait

On Sunday, June 15, 2025, a group of 38 Iraqi pilgrims stranded in the Kingdom of Bahrain departed from Bahrain International Airport for the sisterly State of Kuwait. Their journey was disrupted due to the airspace closure.
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Manama obtained entry visas for them from the relevant Bahraini authorities and secured their hotel accommodation during their stay. As well the Embassy coordinated with the Iraqi Embassy in Kuwait to complete the procedures for issuing their entry visas to Kuwait.
In a related development, an Iraqi Airways plane is scheduled to arrive at Bahrain International Airport on Monday morning, June 16, 2025, at 7:00 AM, to transport the remaining stranded Iraqi pilgrims, following extensive efforts by the Embassy and Iraqi Airways.
