Austria Awards Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussein Grand Decoration of Honor with Sash in Recognition of his Diplomatic Contributions

At an official ceremony held at the Austrian Foreign Ministry in Vienna, the Republic of Austria awarded Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussein, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Austria, Slovenia, and Slovakia, the Grand Decoration of Honor in Gold with Sash, one of the country’s highest official decorations.
The award was presented in recognition of Ambassador Hussein’s prominent role in strengthening bilateral and diplomatic relations between Iraq and Austria. The ceremony was attended by high-level Austrian officials and several ambassadors from Arab and foreign countries.
This decoration is the second highest of 15 honorary degrees awarded by the Republic of Austria and is usually reserved for international figures who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to consolidating the values of cooperation, peace, and mutual respect. This medal has previously been awarded to a number of prominent leaders, including Emperor Haile Selassie, Queen Elizabeth II, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and King Abdullah II.
