Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives UAE Vice President and Head of Delegation to Arab Summit in Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emits, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Head of the UAE delegation to the 34th Arab Summit, hosted today by the Republic of Iraq in Baghdad, on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Minister Fuad Hussein welcomed the Emirati guest in his second home, reaffirming Iraq’s keenness for the UAE’s active participation in the summit and appreciating the strong fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the UAE, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, and investment, noting the significant progress achieved in these areas, which reflects the shared commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation.
They also reviewed the ongoing negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the importance of achieving positive outcomes that contribute to the security and stability of the region.
In the same context, Minister Hussein and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed discussed the recent visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the UAE, and its potential implications for regional and international relations, as well as for efforts to strengthen economic and security partnerships in the region.
The UAE delegation includes His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
The reception was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Dr. Mohammed Tamim; Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Dr. Naim Al Ghazi; Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al Dulaimi; and Iraq’s Ambassador to the UAE, Mr. Mudhaffar Al Jubouri.
