Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives Amir of Qatar Upon Arrival in Baghdad to Participate in Arab Summits

Baghdad, May 17, 2025– Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, welcomed His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, upon his arrival at Baghdad International Airport, to participate in the 34th Regular Arab Summit and the 5th Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, both being held in Baghdad.
His Highness is accompanied by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, along with a delegation of senior Qatari officials.
In his welcoming remarks, Minister Hussein commended Qatar’s significant role in supporting joint Arab action and promoting regional stability. He highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Iraq and Qatar and both countries’ commitment to strengthening cooperation across various fields.
As well the Minister conveyed the Iraqi government’s deep appreciation for this important visit by His Highness the Amir, emphasizing its value in reinforcing bilateral ties and Arab solidarity.
On his part, His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his sincere appreciation to Iraq for hosting these important Arab forum.
The reception ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Dr. Mohammed Tamim, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Dr. Hamid Al Ghazi, and Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al Dulaimi.
