Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives Egyptian President for Participation in Arab and Development Summits

His Excellency President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi arrived in Baghdad on Saturday, May 17, 2025, to participate in the 34th regular Arab Summit and the 5th Arab Economic and Social Development Summit.

His Excellency was received at Baghdad International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, who emphasized Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability and strengthening joint Arab cooperation, and highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries since the establishment of the Arab League, as well as their growing bilateral collaboration across various areas.

President Al Sisi expressed his appreciation for Iraq’s efforts in hosting the two summits, describing it as a reflection of Iraq’s strong return to the Arab arena. He reaffirmed Egypt’s support for all initiatives aimed at advancing economic integration among Arab nations, underlining the significant importance of the Development Summit in this regard.

The welcoming ceremony was also attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mr. Badr Abdelatty, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Planning Dr. Mohammed Tamim, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Dr. Hamid Al Ghazi, and Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al Dulaimi.
