Joint Press Conference of Iraqi, Egyptian, and Jordanian Foreign Ministers in Baghdad Highlights Shared Stance on Palestine and Strengthened Tripartite Cooperation

The foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan held a joint press conference in Baghdad, included Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mr. Ayman Safadi, and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
At the start of the conference, Minister Fuad Hussein welcomed his counterparts, emphasizing that the tripartite meeting served as preparation for the upcoming tripartite Summit scheduled for this Saturday on the sidelines of the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad. He noted that discussions included the summit’s final statement, which is expected to be finalized early next week. The ministers expressed unified visions, especially regarding the Palestinian cause.
The meeting also addressed key topics such as energy and oil, with a shared commitment to deepening economic cooperation among the three countries.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Mr. Ayman Safadi expressed his appreciation for being in Baghdad, describing the city as a cornerstone of security and stability in the region, indicating that the trilateral meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance and activate cooperation among the three countries. In addition he affirmed the shared goal of contributing to resolving regional crises and emphasized, “Our security is one, and our challenges are shared.” He also called on the international community to assume his responsibilities in response to the situation in Gaza, rejecting the ongoing aggression and urging an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians.
Minister Safadi further expressed his country’s support for efforts to rebuild Syria, highlighting its importance to regional stability, and thanked the Iraqi people for their preparations to host the Arab Summit.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdelatty commended the Iraqi government’s efforts in organizing the Summit, noting that hosting it in Baghdad is a clear signal of Iraq’s growing stability and security. He stressed the serious challenges facing the Arab world and underlined the necessity of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue for lasting regional stability.
Minister Abdelatty added that “ preventing the entry of humanitarian aid is something that we can’t remain silent about” and reiterated the three nations’ rejection of any forced displacement of Gaza’s population.
