Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan Hold Expanded Talks in Baghdad within Tripartite Cooperation Mechanism

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Iraq Mr. Fuad Hussein; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Mr. Ayman Safadi; and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Dr. Badr Abdelatty, held expanded talks in Baghdad, on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, in preparation for the 34th regular session of the Arab Summit.
Minister Fuad Hussein welcomed his Egyptian and Jordanian counterparts and expressed his appreciation for their active participation in the preparatory meetings. The two ministers congratulated Iraq on hosting the summit and affirmed their full support for the efforts of the Iraqi government to ensure its success and to promote joint Arab action.
The discussions included a comprehensive concept paper addressing political and economic aspects of cooperation among the three countries. The ministers agreed to coordinate and align positions on key issues before the presenting them in the Summit and prepared a joint paper outlining the main points of consensus.
The meeting also reviewed mechanisms for implementing outcomes of previous meetings and explored ways to overcome obstacles hindering their execution. The ministers agreed on the need to set clear timelines for meetings among the relevant authorities in the three countries to develop a technical and practical vision that would strengthen the tripartite cooperation mechanism and enable effective decision-making.
