Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Yemeni Counterpart in Riyadh to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments

Riyadh, May 4, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani, at the Yemeni Minister’s residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Yemen and ways to strengthen them across various areas to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries. In addition, they exchanged views on overall developments in the region and the security and political challenges.
The meeting highlighted the situation in Yemen, as Minister Hussein affirmed Iraq’s support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving stability and restoring security and peace to Yemen, emphasizing the importance of peaceful solutions and comprehensive national dialogue.
As well the discussions addressed the importance of holding the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, especially in light of the current regional circumstances. The Minister emphasized that the summit represents an opportunity to strengthen Arab solidarity and coordinate positions to confront common crises.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Riyadh Ms. Safia Taleb Al Souhail.
