Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives a Phone Call from Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from the Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa, on Friday 2 May 2025.

During the call, the two sides discussed the ongoing preparations for the Arab Summit in Baghdad this month, and emphasized the importance of the Palestinian issue on the summit’s agenda. As well Prime Minister Mustafa expressed his full support for Baghdad hosting this summit, appreciating Iraq’s role in supporting Arab issues.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister briefed Mr. Fuad Hussein on the results of his recent visit to the United Kingdom, as they discussed developments in the Palestinian issue, in addition the program to hold a joint international conference co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia next June, focusing on the two-state solution.

Mr. Mustafa requested Iraq’s support in advancing this initiative especially within the framework of the conference scheduled to be held in New York.

The call also addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them to serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
