Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Visits Iraqi Embassy in Muscat and Meets Diplomatic Staff

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein visited the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Muscat, on Thursday, 1 May 2025, where he was received by the Iraqi Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman Mr. Qais Al Ameri, along with the Embassy diplomatic and administrative staff.

During the visit, Minister Fuad Hussein held a discussion session with the Embassy staff, in which he discussed the progress of diplomatic and consular work and commended the efforts exerted to strengthen Iraq-Oman relations across various areas. In addition the Minister affirmed the importance of the role of diplomatic missions in representing the interests of Iraqis and providing services to them, especially in light of the regional and international developments.

On his part, Ambassador Qais Al Amri provided a detailed explanation of the Embassy’s activities and achievements over the past period, highlighting the close cooperation with the Omani authorities to serve the Iraqi community and facilitate its procedures, the meeting also discussed ways to develop joint work.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy staff, calling for continued teamwork to enhance Iraq’s image and regional role. During the meeting, views were exchanged on a number of priority issues, including promoting joint investments and facilitating trade between the two countries.
