Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Republic of Iraq’s sincere solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the explosion that occurred at Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, in southern of Iran, which resulted in a number of casualties and hundreds of injuries of innocent civilians.

The Republic of Iraq presents its condolences to the government and people of Iran and affirms its support for them in these painful moments. It also expresses its deep sympathy to the families of the victims and wishes a soon recovery to the wounded.

Iraq renews its emphasis on necessity for enhancing regional and international cooperation to confront the urgent challenges and affirms its readiness to provide any possible support that would contribute to mitigating the effects of this tragedy.
