Crown Prince of Kuwait Receives Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Receives an Official Invitation to Attend Arab Summit in Baghdad

His Highness the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, at Bayan Palace on 22 April 2025. 

During the meeting, Minister Hussein conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq and His Excellency the Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, in addition he commended the strong fraternal relations and historical ties between the two brotherly countries.

The Minister handed over to His Highness the Crown Prince, an official invitation from the President of Iraq to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, to participate in the Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad, next month.

On his part, His Highness the Crown Prince highlighted the pivotal role of Iraq as a founding member of the Arab League, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to strengthen joint Arab action.

Additionally, the Minister affirmed Iraq’s aspiration for the participation of Kuwait’s leaders in the upcoming summit, noting that it comes at a critical challenging time that faces the Arab region. As well the Minister indicated that Iraq is closely following the ongoing negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, expressing his hope for positive outcomes, affirming Iraq’s commitment to support the negotiating process to the best of its ability.

Furthermore, the meeting touched on means of enhancing bilateral collaboration between the two countries in the political, economic, and cultural areas, as the Minister affirmed that relations between Iraq and Kuwait are moving in the right direction, emphasizing the importance of supporting efforts to achieve regional stability.

The two sides also discussed key regional and international developments and emphasized the importance of joint coordination and cooperation in confronting current challenges to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples and enhances security and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya.
