His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Receives Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Manama

His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, at Gudaibiya Palace in Manama, on Monday 21 April 2025. 

During the meeting, Minister Fuad Hussein handed over to His Majesty the King an official invitation from the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid to attend the Baghdad Summit scheduled to be held next month.

The Minister conveyed to His Majesty the King, the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic and His Excellency the Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani.

His Majesty the King, commended the deep-rooted historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Iraq, affirming his pride in the fraternal ties that unite the two countries, as well his Majesty commended Iraq’s rich cultural heritage and its rich contributions to the areas of literature, science, and knowledge throughout the ages, commending the social and cultural affinity between the two brotherly peoples, expressing his aspiration to strengthen partnerships across various areas.

On his part, Minister Hussein affirmed the importance of consolidating regional stability and its role in supporting development and reconstruction processes, appreciating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in promoting development across the region, in addition Minister Hussein emphasized Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its fraternal relations with Bahrain, highlighting Iraq’s success in defeating Da’esh terrorist organization and restoring security, which has served as a foundation for launching reconstruction projects and boosting economic growth.

The two sides touched on the developments in the ongoing negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, stressing the importance of reaching peaceful solutions that contribute to defusing regional tensions. In this context, the Minister reiterated Iraq’s support for these negotiations that aims to achieve security and stability in the region.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Fuad Hussein extended his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, commending the brotherly atmosphere and appreciation that prevailed during the meeting. 

The meeting was attended on the Bahraini side by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah, and Minister of the Royal Court Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed.
