Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Meets his Jordanian Counterpart in Amman to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mr. Ayman Safadi, at the Jordanian Foreign Ministry headquarters in Amman, on Sunday 20 April 2025, to discuss the means of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, as well the regional and international developments.

The meeting highlighted the profound bilateral relations between both countries, as the two sides stressed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the political, economic, and security areas to serve the interests of the both brotherly peoples, in addition the two ministers reviewed prospects for developing the strategic partnership, particularly in the fields of energy, transportation, and trade, based on the strong historical ties that unite the two countries.

On his part, Minister Fuad Hussein briefed his Jordanian counterpart on the ongoing preparations to host the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad next month. Minister Safadi expressed Jordan’s full support for Iraq, in organizing this important Arab event. 

As well as the two sides discussed regional and international developments, particularly the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, and the efforts to enhance security and stability in the region. 

Additionally, both ministers affirmed that dialogue and political solutions are the best ways to address crises, underlining the importance of concerted efforts to confront common challenges.

Furthermore, the two ministers discussed the Arab League ministerial meeting which is scheduled to be held next Wednesday in Cairo, under the chairmanship of Jordan, as they stressed the importance of consolidating regional stability and the need to strengthen Arab coordination in international forums, which would contribute to achieving Arab solidarity and protecting the higher interests of Arab countries. They also agreed to continue consultation and coordination in the next period.
