Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Arrives in Abu Dhabi on Official Visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, arrived in Abu Dhabi, on Saturday 19 April 2025, on an official visit. The Minister was received by the Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates Mr. Khalifa Bin Shaheen Almarar.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States. In this context, Minister Hussein affirmed “the importance of avoiding the outbreak of a conflict in the region, to which it may lead to disastrous consequences for all”, and underlined the need for regional cooperation to build a sustainable security system that protects the interests of all parties.

Minister Hussein indicated the urgent need to build bridges of stability by finding common ground, as well he added that dialogue remains the best way to resolve disputes and avoid escalation. 

On his part, the Minister of State commended the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and the Republic of Iraq, and stressed that ” the development and political stability in the region can only be achieved in a secure and stable environment”. As well Mr. Almarar highlighted the importance of joint coordination on the mechanisms to enhance regional security, particularly in light of current challenges.
