Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister in Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fuad Hussein received the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Nuh Yilmaz on Thursday, April 17, 2025. During the meeting, they discussed the methods for enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries and reviewed the latest developments in the second meeting of the Iraqi-Turkish Joint Planning Committee, held in Baghdad.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the positive developments in the context of bilateral relations, and they focused on the cooperation in the economic, security, and investment fields. They also exchanged the views to enhance the joint coordination to face the regional challenges.

For his part, Mr. Fuad Hussein stressed on the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership with the Republic of Turkey, to achieve the common interests for the two neighboring countries.

For his part, Mr. Yilmaz expressed his country’s appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Iraqi government in strengthening the bilateral cooperation, emphasizing Ankara’s aspiration to deepen the partnership with Baghdad in different fields.
