Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Participates in Serbia National Day

The Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, participated in Serbia National Day, which was held by the Serbian Embassy in Baghdad on 15 February 2025. His Excellency delivered a speech on this occasion in which he stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Serbia across various fields, highlighting the profound historical ties between the two countries, which extend over decades of joint cooperation, especially within the Non-Aligned Movement.

As well Undersecretary Bahr Aluloom indicated the importance of advancing economic cooperation to greater prospects, commending the role played by Serbian companies in supporting infrastructure projects in Iraq, and underlining the need to reactivate the work of the Iraqi-Serbian Joint Committee and enhance cooperation in the fields of investment and trade exchange, in addition he called on Serbian companies to participate in major economic projects, such as the Development Road Project.

meanwhile, the Undersecretary touched on the diplomatic movement in Iraq and its increasing role in enhancing regional stability and hosting international conferences aimed at achieving security in the region stressing Iraq’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people.

At the end of his speech, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry praised the strong relations between Iraq and Serbia, expressing his aspiration for more cooperation in the future, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.
